How to schedule and attend lessons

To schedule a lesson, get started by clicking the “Create Lesson +” button on your main screen. Next, select a current student. If you are scheduling a new student, click “Invite Student by Email” instead. Finally, select a date on the calendar and a time (below calendar). An email and invite link will be sent to the student.

If you need to reschedule a lesson, you will need to first cancel the lesson and then create a new one at the correct time. To cancel a lesson, you can delete it by clicking the trash can or X in the lesson list. Muze will automatically send an email to the student when you schedule the new lesson.

From your invitation email, click the “Join Now” button. If you don’t have an account yet, you will be able to create one now. Once you are logged in, you will be able to see the lesson in your list. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, you will need to communicate with your teacher and let them know.

How to use the tuner, metronome, and visual cues

Start by selecting the tuner icon. Sing a note or play one using your instrument of choice, and allow the tool to detect the note. Once the tuner recognizes the note, try to adjust it so it stays steady and in the center of the dial. The tuner will show a success animation if the note is properly tuned, or it may ask you to move closer if the note is too quiet.

Start by selecting the metronome icon. Next, input a BPM (beats per minute) value by clicking the input field and either typing or using the up and down arrows. Press the play button and adjust the volume as desired.

When doing virtual lessons, teachers can use visual cues to give students direction while practicing, or just to tell students they are doing a great job!

To use the visual cues, just click on the “Visual Cues” icon in the toolbar and then click on the cue you’d like to use.

Currently available are Stop, Go, Rushing, Dragging, Applause, Pianissimo, Piano, Mezzo Piano, Mezzo Forte, Forte, and Fortissimo.

How to use clips

Click the “Clips” icon at the top of the toolbar. In the pop out menu, click “Create New Lesson Clip.” Enter clip name and click “Begin Recording.”

You’ll be given a 3 second countdown before the recording starts. To end the recording, select ‘Stop Recording.’ This will end the recording and the clip will process and save.

When it is finished, Muze will inform you that the clip was saved successfully. DO NOT close Muze until this message is displayed. For best results, we recommend both parties use headphones to avoid sound bleed between devices.

Click the “Clips” icon at the top of the toolbar. When the Clips menu pops out, you will be able to select either “Lesson Clips” or “Archived Clips” at the top. You can also search the clip names or filter by student.

When you find the clip you are looking for, simply click on it to open it up and play it.

First locate the clip from the clips library. Open the clip and click on the three dots on the bottom right, then click “Download.”

First select the “Clips” icon at the top of the toolbar and locate the clip you want to delete, then click the trash can icon to the left of the clip title in the list.

How to use files and lesson notes

Click the “Files” icon in the toolbar. In the pop out menu, click “Create New File.”

Enter the file name and click “Choose File” to select a file from your device to upload to Muze. When the file is selected, click “Save File.”

Click the “Files” icon in the toolbar. When the Files menu pops out, you will be able to select either “Lesson Files” or “Archived Files” at the top. You can also search the file names or filter by student.

To delete a file, just click the trash can to the right of the file name.

Click the “Notes” icon in the toolbar. When the Notes menu pops out, you will be able to select either “Lesson Notes” or “Archived Notes” at the top, or “Create a New Note.” You can also search the note names or filter by student.
