Making the most of your lesson time with Muze
Making the most of your lesson time with Muze

Using a music specific education platform like Muze will elevate your online and in person lessons. Here are some ways that Muze helps you make the most of your lesson time.
Lesson notes:
With Muze you can keep your lesson notes open during the lesson and add things to remember and helpful tips for your students while they are playing. Muze also gives the students a notepad to write notes on that will help them during their practice week. Muze will not only store your lesson notes, but your students will have them as well in their practice portal for future reference. These notes are extremely valuable and aid in knowledge retention. We all need reminders of what to practice and being able to see what progress is being made over time is extremely valuable.

Files:
Emailing or texting music files are a thing of the past with Muze. Muze gives you a way to store all of your files and share them with your students in their practice portals so you always know where to find what they need. You’ll love seeing the files magically appear in their portal with a click of a button so you don’t have to spend time emailing/texting after the lesson is over. This also can be done in your Muze session with your students while they are playing so they aren’t distracted. The file sharing feature can be used to give your students sightreading or other new exercises/music to read in their lessons. They simply open the file in session with no disruptions or distractions.

Clips:
Muze creates a way for students to play with you through the clips feature so you don’t have to worry about internet latency. We do this by having the student play with a clip the teacher recorded of themselves in or out of the session. In Muze lesson you can record clips of your students playing and then play it back so you can discuss any issues (or awesomeness) you see or hear. Having this feature is very valuable for students as they can listen and see themselves more objectively. It’s also useful to record clips of yourself for your students to observe through the week.

Metronome and Tuner:
Muze’s embedded tuner is a great way to help students learn how to tune themselves and give them the confidence that their instrument is ready to go whether in the online lesson or in their practice session. Easy to use, Muze’s tuner will help your students improve their intonation through regular use.

Muze’s simple to use metronome is easily accessible in the practice portal or in the online lesson. It can be a challenge to play with students synchronously so teaching your students how to use the metronome effectively can help them to stay in time independently of their teacher.

As always, Muze has a team that is there to help you navigate the platform if you need further assistance. We are teachers and love what we do! Feel free to contact us at contact@teachwithmuze.com to set up a one-on-one tour of Muze.
